The GolfWorks Maximum Strength Tour Set Plus Epoxy

NOTE: The GolfWorks Epoxy Cartridge Gun (#ESG2) equipped with a 2:1 Plunger (#VB1004) is required for proper dispensing. Epoxy Gun with 1:1 and 2:1 Plunger (#VB1005) also available.

Stronger Adhesion At Half The Cost! The new GolfWorks Maximum Strength High Impact and Tour Set Plus Epoxies have been formulated to match the peel and shear strength of premium 3M epoxies only with more elastic qualities specifically needed for proper golf club head/shaft adhesion, at about half the cost. The Maximum Strength High Impact epoxy is formulated for the high volume clubmaker to gel in approximately 1 hour while the Maximum Strength Tour Set Plus epoxy with a gel time of 20-30 minutes is intended for smaller jobs and/or when you simply need to expedite the curing process. Both Maximum Strength epoxies feature a shear strength of 4500 psi and require a 2:1 mix ratio.

The GolfWorks Maximum Strength Tour Set Plus Epoxy is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never again Let set overnight and epoxy failed in a TM adapter after a few balls at range (yes, shaft and tip were both properly prepped and epoxy was properly mixed). Tried again after cleaning up and re-prepping, and was able to twist shaft out of adapter/head after 24 hrs. Purchased at local Golf Galaxy in early 2016. Worked fine for an extension, but have since thrown it in the trash. Will never buy this stuff again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good stuff Awesome stuff, this is all I use to build my clubs. It has a good quick gel time, but enough to glue an entire set with no problem. Dries very quick over night. Can play within 13 hours with this stuff. Highly recommend this to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best epoxy ever I bought this about a month ago and I am very pleased with it. I had some older epoxy that I had used and I lost a head off my driver after retrieving it I used York epoxy and all is well. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tour Set Plus Epoxy I have been using this epoxy for a number of years and it is far superior to what the OEM's use. If used in conjunction with glass centering beads the bond is unbelievable.

What's the difference between this 002, and 001 epoxy?

Asked by: fixit0828
The biggest difference is the set or gel time. The 002 Tour Set Plus sets in 20 to 30 minutes and the 001 sets in 1 hour. Both have the same shear strength.

How many clubs can I put together with one tube of this?

Asked by: Rob
I do not have an exact number but I would think I could do up to 5 sets of clubs with one of these cartridges.

I have tried to glue a titleist adaptor onto a graphite shaft using the Golfworks adaptor adhesive. After a few hits the adaptor becomes loose.  Which epoxy works BEST for this application ?

Asked by: Daddyrabs
The adaptor adhesive should have worked. It is essentially the same as our TSPE which has a 3000 psi, which is more than adequate for the application. Our VB1002 Max Strength High Impact adhesive has the highest psi of our epoxies, at 5000 psi. Again, the adaptor adhesive should work. You must be sure to clean the inside of the adaptor and prep the end of hte shaft before the application of the epoxy.

does this have a plunger that dispenses the epoxy on to the mixing pad?

Asked by: Dave
No the Maximum Strength Epoxy Cartridges that are a 2:1 mix do not come with a Plunger. They require a Cartridge Gun.

Just used this to do two of my irons, I did not realize it was a 2:1 mix ratio. Will my clubs be ok to use???

Asked by: Jon29
With the cartridges the epoxy will generally always dispense in the proper amounts. If by chance you use more of the hardener then needed you could have a failure. The hardener is the smaller tube and would be the 1 part. If you mixed this in a 1:1 mix we would recommend redoing them.

can I use the tour set plus epoxy without the mixing gun?

Asked by: el chango74
With the Max Strength Tour Set Plus Epoxy we recommend a mixing gun to make sure the epoxy is dispensed in the proper 2 to 1 amount. Dispensing without the gun may not create the proper 2 to 1 mix ratio. The Tour Set Plus (TSPE) cartridge is a 1 to 1 mix and the cartridge comes with a plunger to dispense the epoxy. You do not necessarily need the gun with version of Tour Set Plus.
