Is there any reason why a 2010+ blade cannot be used on a pre 2010 iron?

Asked by: Joe
It could be used. It will put more radius on the top edge of the groove then it had before. Using the 2010+ blade will not make the groove conforming by the current rule.

I know the old Ping Eye 2 Plus U or Box grooves are no longer "legal", but I play the wedges anyway. What tool would work best for this model? Thanks

Asked by: Mitch
For these Ping Eye 2 Plus irons you would use the pre-2010 tool.

I have vokey wedges and Cleveland ta1 irons. Both are prior to 2010. What is the difference of the regrooving tools?

Asked by: Boomer15
One tip is designed in the shape of the pre-2010 groove dimension and the other is designed in the shape of the post 2010 groove dimension, as defined by the USGA rules of golf. The purpose of the tool is to "clean up" and enhance the existing groove on an iron. You can not use one to change the shape of a pre - 2010 into a post 2010 groove, or visa versa. Also, there are no guarantees of conformity after use. That can only be determined by precise measurements using the accepted tools and methods of the USGA.

I have Taylormade R9 irons. Which tool do I use? Pre-2010 or Post 2010?

Asked by: chris
The R9 irons were introduced in 2010 so you will need the 2010+ cutter.

Is there a difference between the three blade tips on the single triangular blade?  And do yo sell the pre-2010 blade only? This was asked before but you linked right back to this page.

Asked by: Mike
Sorry about that, my mistake. We do sell just the 2010 blade only and still have 3 of those cutters left in stock. We are discontinuing these. The order code is GW0110. All three sides of the cutters are the same so that you can rotate to a new cutter when one gets worn out. You will need to contact Customer Service regarding the GW0110 cutters. They will not show up on the web site.
