The GolfWorks Golf Club Swingweight Scale

The “industry standard” golf club scale designed by Ralph Maltby. This Golf Club Scale measures swingweights using the industry standard 14” fulcrum principle which provides direct swingweight readings (C8, D2, etc.). Scale markings are large, easy to read, and are printed on both sides of the Scale, so readings can be taken from either side. By placing any club in the resting cradle, this Scale also measures total club weight. Permanently mounted parts tray measures the weight of individual components. Weights can be read in grams and ounces. The Scale has a bubble-level indicator and adjustable feet to ensure accurate readings no matter what surface it's on. A modern gray/black protective finish completes the professional quality of this unit. Each scale is precision machined, assembled by hand, calibrated in our factory, and then shipped to you in a specially designed, protective carton. A calibration plate certifies the accuracy of each scale. When you purchase the Ralph Maltby Golf Club Scale, you are buying a precision instrument that will reward you with a lifetime of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Scale I've had one of these scales since the mid 1980's. Never had a problem with it. Provides accurate readings. Is strong and durable. Like the leveling feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and fit Used the scale on several clubs. It is a piece of equipment you will have for several lifetimes. Well made, easy to use, and the slide glides along the beam. The scale is easy to read. The setup is easy with the amount of thrwad on the adjustable legs for setting the 3D leveling bubble. Good Job Golfworks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice piece of equipment! Arrived well packed and in great shape. Leveled it up according to instructions and then it required no further calibration which really surprised me. Could not be more pleased with this purchase.

what is purpose of grip tray in swing weight machine

Asked by: jwchair
The grip tray allows you to set a grip on the tray for checking a swingweight of an ungripped club. The tray holds the grip in place. You can see the picture at this link for the Grip Tray (SWRMGT). https://www.golfworks.com/maltby-design-grip-tray-for-swingweight-scale/p/SWRMGT/

Lost the parts tray. Built one w/1/8" wire, large bolt, shrink wrap, total of 185.1g. Scale balances at 0 oz. Is that correct? My scale S/N is 7282094. Was told 196g for the tray, but too heavy, will not balance. Will you carry more SWRMP01?

Asked by: Darrell
As long as the scale balances at 0 you are fine. The parts tray likely spreads weight out a little more then the weight you created and that will effect the balance. We make the SWRM here at The GolfWorks so we make the parts tray as well. We do not keep a lot of extra trays but can make it pretty quickly. If you all Customer Service they can help you with this and give you an idea how long it will take. 1-800-848-8358.

I've used this model for years working at Little Turtle CC and Double Eagle GC.  Loved it.  Can some tell me if the digital version is superior to this model.  I'm in the market for one.  Thank you.

Asked by: Shawn M
Personally I would not say the digital model is superior, it's different in that it reads digital measurements. It works very well. We still sell more SWRM scales then the digital scales. Some customers like the digital read outs better. It is really a preference.

My SW scale is set up, and the bubble is balanced. Beam is not in balance at "0". Weighing a few items, from head weights to a Maltby TE 6-iron head, the scale appears to be over-stating the weight by 2.5-3.0 grams. How best to fix/calibrate?

Asked by: leef2020
If it is level and not balancing on "0" the first thing I always ask is the hanging component try attached. Often times customers have forgotten to attach the tray. Is the tray hanging straight down? It can catch at times and if it is not hanging straight down it will effect the readings. There is a chamber in the back piece that the butt end of the grip butts up against. If you look underneath this piece you will see an allen screw. You can remove the screw and there is lead powder in this chamber that is used to balance or calibrate the scale. You can add or remove weight to balance your scale. You could also always return it to us if necessary and Customer Service would be able to walk you through the process of returning the scale if necessary.

Is the grip tray shown in the picture or not? Thanks!

Asked by: wbhg
It is a little hard to see in the image on the website, but the picture for the SWRMGT does show the tray under the grip. The tray hooks over the end of the swingweight scale and extends toward the head end of the club a couple of inches. The grip simply rests on it above the ungripped club. There is also a magnet weight you must use to offset the weight of the tray and it comes with the tray. It attaches to the opposite side (the head side) of the weight bar (the piece that has the measurement scale on it). Here is a link to the instructions. https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/SWRMGT.pdf
