True Temper Command Steel Wood Shafts is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value. These are excellent steel shaft alternatives for fairway metals. I also use them with older (smaller) driver heads for a "retro" look & feel. I can't tell the difference between these and Dynamic Gold. I have several modern, bigger driver heads mated with these shafts and cut to "retro" lengths of about 43.5" - 44" overall club length, and they are VERY accurate. Easier to control than longer graphite shafted drivers, although not as long hitting. I'll take middle of the fairway over really long and in the weeds any day.

Can I get a driver shaft in steel for my titeist 915 D titanium or KBS equivalent ?

Asked by: s4 lancia
Yes you can. The only steel wood shafts available these days are the True Temper Command, which is an R/S Combination flex and the Dynamic Gold (UDGW). In the Dynamic Gold we stock the R300, S300 & X100 flexes.

Can these shafts be tipped stiff and installed in irons and still preform?

Asked by: slmealor
The Command is a R/S combination flex shaft that can be cut to either and R flex or S flex so yes it could be cut to a Stiff flex and perform just fine.

I have five callaway war birds ( 4 5 7 9 11 )I don't know hosel depth, standard length medal head.

Asked by: enigma 43
If these are the older original Callaway War Bird fairway woods they are a bore through design where the shaft goes all the way through the bottom of the sole. Generally the bore depth of these heads all the way through the bottom was in the 1.25" range. From what information I can find here are the standard lengths that Callaway used with graphite shafts. 4 = 42.5" 5 = 42" 7 = 41.5" 9 = 41" 11 = 40.5"

I previously assembled a bunch of clubs with the (sadly discontinued) TT Lite XL R/S .335 shafts.  In terms of stiffness and ball flight, how would you compare the Command to the TT Lite XL?

Asked by: TDW
The Command wood shaft would be a very good replacement for the discontinued TT Lite. Weights, specifications and playability are similar.

Are these command shaft the pre1995 shafts. Later models had different flex characterists. Thanks

Asked by: Kree
GolfWorks started carrying the Command in 2004 and it was listed as new for 2004. This would be the later model.
