True Temper Command Steel Wood Shafts is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value. These are excellent steel shaft alternatives for fairway metals. I also use them with older (smaller) driver heads for a "retro" look & feel. I can't tell the difference between these and Dynamic Gold. I have several modern, bigger driver heads mated with these shafts and cut to "retro" lengths of about 43.5" - 44" overall club length, and they are VERY accurate. Easier to control than longer graphite shafted drivers, although not as long hitting. I'll take middle of the fairway over really long and in the weeds any day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the feel! Bought these wood shafts to put with an old 3 metal. I wanted something with an "old school" feel and these hit it perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Performance and Value I recently built a 5 wood, 41.5" long, and an old 315cc driver at 43.5" with these Command steel shafts. Both clubs are Very accurate, and I credit the shaft for this tight dispersion. They fly exactly where I aim them, even on mishits. I'd say the description is correct, observing a mid to mid high ball flight. I can feel the shaft load and unload, stable at impact. I'd call it true to flex as I built the driver R and the other Firm. Seems right and I have a Rifle 4.5 and 5.5 to compare it to. The first range session was impressive! I took the driver out for 9 holes and hit 5 of 7 fairways. One just missed and the other was a bad swing. This new driver bumped "ole faithful" right out of the bag. I wouldn't hesitate to use these shafts again, or recommend them to you. I need a gap wedge, and will build it with the iron shaft version. The choices are limited for steel wood shafts. I hope they keep this one around. It's an outstanding value. Golfworks is a great company. Excellent customer service, good products, fast and accurate delivery. Glad they're here for us club makers.

what is the length of this shaft? do you have it in X?

Asked by: Bob
The True Temper Command wood shaft is 45" long and it is not manufactured in an X flex. The Dynamic Gold (UDGW) X100 is the only X flex steel wood shaft still availalbe. I have been told it is being discontinued for 2018.

I recently received the four TT Command wood shafts I ordered. They are 45 inches long and 133 grams heavy and have no markings. The advertised specs are different. Did you send me the wrong items?

Asked by: Jack B
The Command wood shafts we currently have have no specific markings. They come only in the R/S combination flex and are 45 inches. The spec weight we have in our catalog is incorrect. It should be 130 grams. There is a tolerance and the 133 does fall within the tolerance. We apologize for the confusion.

Command shaft, 196 gr head 52 gr grip. Swt at 43 and 44"? Again, prefer D3 +/-1pt. What would a 42 gr grip do to equation? Want no shorter than 43". If u give me a link for this info I'll leave you alone haha. TYVM your terrific.

Asked by: Peter
At 43" it comes up in the C8 range. Every 4 grams of grip weight is equal to 1 swingweight so if you lighten the grip to 42 grams it will bring the swingweight up to D0 to D0.5. Every 1" is equal to 6 swingweights so if you go to 44" it would move from C8 to D4. Here is a link for a swingweight calculator. https://www.valuegolf.com/golf-club-swingweight-calculator/ If you google search "swingweight calculator" you will come up with a few of them.

I'm going to build a 5 wood with an old standard weight club head. Using this command shaft and a 52 gr grip. Can you tell me the swing weight at 41.5 and 42"? Shooting for D3. I can add lead powder and a cork if needed. I'd rather keep standard length.

Asked by: Peter
To know or calculate the swingweight for sure I would need to know how much the 5 wood head weights. Without knowing the exact weight I can only make an educated guess. If the 5 wood clubhead weight is 220 grams, which was a fairly traditional head weight for wooden 5 woods the swingweight at 41.5" would come up in the D3 range. At 42" it would go up to approximately D6.

Would this shaft be able to be installed into a Titleist 904F 5W and play 40 - 40.5" and hit a reg flex/standard swingweight?

Asked by: Jfumia
Yes the TT Command wood shaft will fit the Titleist 904F 5 wood. You might have to add some swingweight to get it in a normal D1 or D2 range if you assemble it to 40" to 40.5". With a steel shaft this combination would have likely been in the 41.5" range.

Can I get a driver shaft in steel for my titeist 915 D titanium or KBS equivalent ?

Asked by: s4 lancia
Yes you can. The only steel wood shafts available these days are the True Temper Command, which is an R/S Combination flex and the Dynamic Gold (UDGW). In the Dynamic Gold we stock the R300, S300 & X100 flexes. http://www.golfworks.com/true-temper-dynamic-gold-steel-wood-shafts/p/UDGW/
