True Temper Dynamic Gold SL .355" Steel Iron Shaft is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs like DG, but lighter I've been enjoying these in a set of TE forged irons and am very pleased with the performance. They are low launching like the Dynamic Gold shafts, but are 20 grams lighter! The shot dispersion is excellent, too. If you need a lighter shaft that is tip stiff, this is it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and Accurate Had to replace a shaft in a set of Nike SQ Irons. Nike shaft was a True Temper and this was as close as I could come. The shaft is very close to the OEM except lighter, stronger, and more accurate. Overall this is a terrific shaft. I have also used it in my Mizuno MP32 blades. It plays as well as a graphite, but seem to be more accurate.

My head club have parallel hosel 370 can i use this tapered shaft 355 if i use Shims 355 -370...then the hosel is deep 1" inch and i need 1/2 inch more than standard lenght...impossibile use this shaft? I need parallel 370?

Asked by: Leonard
You could use the Dynamic Gold SL .370" parallel tip shaft (TT201105) and you will not need to shim and they are long enough to allow you to make them 1/2" longer. https://www.golfworks.com/true-temper-dynamic-gold-sl-370-steel-iron-shafts/p/TT201105/

I was told recently that True Temper is going to stop making the SL shafts. Is this true?

Asked by: Paul33
True Temper has told me that the DG SL will be discontinued at the end of 2017 and be replaced with a new shaft. At this point I have no idea as to what specifications the new shaft will have.

My 7 iron is 37" long, but you list the 38" shaft for the 7 iron. Is the difference between the 37" and 38" shaft only at the butt end?--said another way, can I just buy the 37 and not worry about butt trimming, or should I buy the 38 and butt trim?

Asked by: ronray43
If you install the 37" shaft, which is the shaft for the 9 iron and wedges, into your 7 iron instead of the 38" shaft the shaft will play a half a flex stiffer then the listed flex. Even if you install the 37" shaft your 7 iron the length will be in the 38" to 38.25" range. The clubhead design adds to the finished length of the club. You will still need to butt cut the club to it's finished length of 37". Shafts are made longer in raw length to help with players who need over length clubs.

I have a set of Ping I 3 O-size stiff  shafts "cushion JZ" I am 71 years old starting back into golf again and my clubs feel a little heavier what it be recommended to change to a later shift and what would you recommend, been 15 years since I played last

Asked by: Cal
The JZ was very much like a Dynamic Gold. The Dynamic Gold SL (TT2016) is approximately 20 grams lighter then the Dynamic Gold with the same playing characteristics. If you liked the playing characteristics of the JZ this could be a good choice. Dropping to an R flex might also be a good idea. The True Temper XP 95, (TT0101) 105 (TT0102) or 115 (TT0112) could be other good options. The Ping irons do use a .355" taper tip shaft.
