I'm looking for a direct replacement for my taylor made M2 4 iron with a reax steel by FST high Launch 88 in regular flex , is your R Flex 40" - .370 tip (92g) 3B3H the correct shaft?

Asked by: Joe
To get the REAX steel shaft by FST you would have to go through Taylor Made and would likely have to send the club back to them to have it reshafted. The REAX would have been made exclusively for Taylor Made. The True Temper GS85 shafts are all sold out and have been discontinued. In the FST shafts the FST 90 (FS0011) cut to the R flex would make a good replacement. In True Temper shafts the XP95 (TT0113) would be the closest replacement.

What would the effect be on flex and trajectory if these shafts were soft stepped only one club. (3 iron shaft in 4 iron head and so on down the line?}

Asked by: bdg
With the way True Temper set up the GS85's soft stepping one club would make these shafts play a half a flex more flexible.

I am interested in the True Temper GS85 .370 shafts. Since they are parallel tip, why do they come in specific lengths already. I thought parallel tip shafts comes in one length and you have to tip and butt trim for which ever iron you need.

Asked by: Tom
The GS85 is an older model that we have not carried since about 2012. You can have .370 tip shafts in discrete lengths, just like taper tip shafts. When you have .370 tip shafts in varying lengths, you do not tip trim them, just like the .355. You would simply install and then cut to final plaing length from the butt end. One of the reasons companies might design a discrete length .370 tip shaft is to offer it in a constant weight product.

GS85 Parallel TIP R300 SHAFTS I am building a 6 club set and would like the flex to be "A". If I use the 3 iron shaft in the 5 iron would this work or what flex might it be.

Asked by: Danjack
Yes soft stepping 2 clubs like this should put you right on an A flex based on the way True Temper progressed the stiffness of these shafts.
