True Temper Score LT Steel Iron Shaft Specifications

True Temper Score LT Steel Iron Shafts is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Match! I bought these about a month ago to replace a similar shaft with a different flex. These Score LT Steel shafts have performed just as I expected. I notice the desired consistency with every club.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from replaced graphite shafts with these Wanted to try steel shafts in my olderCleveland Irons, that had graphite shafts. Cut and installed between R/S. After playing a few rounds, wish I had had used these years ago. They play great for me a 74 yr. old, a 16 handicap golfer.

These shafts have a weight of 118 grams. After they are tipped and butt trimmed how much weight comes off? Are they playing at 105 to a 110 grams??

Asked by: Hambone67
The finished length depends on the finished length of your irons and which model irons you have. If you have a 38" 5 iron with a 1" bottom of bore to ground line measurement the cut shaft length would be 37" to create a 38" finished club length. In that case the cut shaft would be 106 grams. You take the raw shaft weight divided by the shafts raw length and it tells you how much the shaft weights per inch. Multiply that measurement by the cut length of the shaft and you will have the cut shaft weight.

Wondering difference between TT Score LT and Dynamic Gold shafts. Been playing the latter since I was 40...now 58. Used to play regularly...now seldom. Was a 9 hc...now who knows. Always been more accurate than long. 7 iron from 150.

Asked by: TomH
The Score LT at 117 grams is lighter in weight then the Dynamic Gold by as much as 10 grams. The Score LT is designed to produce a high trajectory and compared the to Dynamic Gold that is designed to produce a low trajectory. The Dynamic Gold might play a little stiffer even in the same flex compared to the Score LT. The Score LT is a very good lightweight shaft that we get very good feedback from.

Can you tell me how this shaft compare to the TT Dynalite 105 that come with Nike irons? Similar characteristics?  Thank you

Asked by: payango71
The Score LT matches well both in weight and playing characteristics to the Dynalite 105 used by Nike. It should work well.

How does this shaft compare with the True Temper TT Lite XL Steel Iron Shafts? I'm 60, 6'4", with a low 90's swing speed & high ball flight. Thanks, D.Decker

Asked by: Dean D
The TT Lite XL shafts have always played and tested stiffer then their listed flex. The Score LT tests and plays very close to it's listed flex. The shafts will have similar weight once they are cut for installation. The Score LT should produce a higher trajectory then the TT Lite XL as well.

My main concern with inexpensive shafts is quality. Can you speak to the manufacturing tolerances for the Score LT? If I wanted to get close to the flex of a KBS Tour Regular, would I trim the Score LT to Firm? Stiff?

Asked by: Games
Thanks for the reply. By profile numbers, are you referring to the Maltby shaft ratings? The Score LT R profile is 3B2H. The KBS Tour R is 3B3H. Are you saying trimming the Score to firm will create higher ball flight (according to the shaft ratings)? Also, any thoughts on the quality / consistency of the Score shafts?

I have this shaft trimmed to an r+. Love the way I hit them but the trajectory is to high. can you point me into a matching shaft. With a lower trajectory?

Asked by: ozzie626
I would suggest the True Temper TT Lite XL (UTXLIC). https://www.golfworks.com/true-temper-tt-lite-xl-parallel-iron-shafts/p/UTXLIC/

does this shaft come in senior flex?

Asked by: gary
No the Score LT shaft is not manufactured in a Senior flex. Depending on your set make up you could subtract 1" from the recommended trimming instructions form the R flex and make this shaft play close to a Senior flex.

According to the tip stiffnes and bend point these shafts should have a lower ball flight in regular flex than stiff. Would that be correct?

Asked by: Hambone67
This is a combination flex shaft where you cut the R or S flex from the same shaft. It has the same bend point and tip stiffness in both the R and S flexes which is mid/low bend point and medium soft tip stiffness. This shaft is designed to produce a mid/high trajectory.
