Universal Golf Shaft Extensions

The Universal Shaft extensions will work with almost any steel or graphite shaft. After applying a little epoxy, insert the extension into a shaft, force the provided tapered plug into the extension until the extension expands to fit the ID of the golf shaft. Its that simple. 3 per pack.
Universal Golf Shaft Extensions is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Universal Shaft extension These were easy to install. I added epoxy to the mix so they are not going anywhere. I did mess one up but a heat gun can melt the epoxy and it was easy to remove. You can also drill through the plug with a long bit. I have been playing the set I extended for about 4 rounds now. None of the extensions have come loose or gotten squirrely. These are light so they don't add much weight to the club. I now have a set of forged bladed irons long enough for me to play and I really enjoy the old school Ben Hogan feel of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great I used these extensions on a set of graphite shafted irons to extend them all 1/2 inch. The openings were .490. To make these extensions work I used a hacksaw on the end along the two slot openings. I also used a razor to take additional material off the slot until the extension compressed into the shaft without too much force. Once I was comfortable with the fit, I inserted them with epoxy. I also dipped the pin tips in epoxy before driving them into the extension. These extensions are there to stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Universal shaft extensions Installed these on steel shafts to gain .5 inch increase under new multicompound grip replacement. Have played several rounds with them and have had no problems. The extensions are very solid, secure and lightweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Extensions Bought these to extend a couple of Ping putters I picked up on Ebay. They did exactly what they said they would. Easy to install and gave me the extra length I needed for my height. Also extended the shafts of my 3-metal and 3-hybrid and both feel perfectly solid even with my swing speed. I've got a second set of clubs I plan to use as I get older but they are standard shafts and I need a little more length to be comfortable. I'll be ordering more of these now that I know they work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install This was the first time I'd ever regripped a set of clubs or used extensions, these made it all too easy! Very happy with them!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't fit The universal extension that was shipped to me did not fit my set of Cleveland Hybrids with a shaft opening of .490.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shaft Extensions. NOT Universal though! I bought this to extend a set of Taylormade PSI's with Kuro Kage 90i stiff flex graphite iron shafts. These shafts had an inside diameter of .490 and these extensions were far too big to be inserted into these shafts. However, I've used them on other irons and they work exceptionally well. Ended up getting the .485 extensions and they worked like a charm.

Will this extension fit a TM Rocketballz stage two  HL 3 wd with a .350 tip???

Asked by: Basicbob
The measurement we need is the inside diameter measurement at the butt end of the shaft. If you can measure the inside diameter you match that up to the correct GW4000 extension size. If you have the Rocketfuel 50 graphite shaft it weights in the 55 gram range and has a .620" butt diameter. Based on other shafts with this weight and butt diameter you would need the GW4000 Black (.560") extension.

Just a note - advising people to use Acetone and Epoxy is dangerous. It's rare, but the mix of acetone and the right kind of epoxy can enter your skin and kill you. Alcohol works well to clean up excess epoxy and is a safer choice.

Asked by: Jae
You also do not want to use Acetone to clean up excess epoxy because it can break down the epoxy and cause it to fail.

I ordered after the? Asked & answered as"For the N.S. Pro 950GH steel shaft you would use the Universal Extension (GW1047)" I dry fit the extension and it has too much play to be useful in that .610 butt shaft. Any suggestions?

Asked by: Golf Gnome
With this Universal Plastic extension there is a little plastic plug that has to be inserted down inside the extension to expand the post that goes down inside the shaft. You have to insert this plug. I usually use an 8" punch to drive the plug down inside the extension.

I recalled that you had either a video or a pdf file showing how to use these extensions. Is it still available (assuming they existed)? :-)

Asked by: Bobtrumpet
We have a couple of video's for installing extensions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tkNr3etew4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY2naQPYnag We do not go into specific details on installing the Universal Extensions. The key with these extensions if to make sure to get the pin pushed all the way down into the extension so that it expands the bottom part of the extension and secures it into the shaft. I use an 8" punch to set the pin.

what is max extension with extension

Asked by: ext21
The Universal Extension is 3" long. We generally keep extensions to 1.5". Personally I will never extend a club more then 1" except a putter. It creates a leverage point under your hand and it comes down to what liability are you comfortable with.

These work for all dimensions? Have one set .370 and one set .355 Thanks in advance!

Asked by: bbrown1964
For steel shafts they will work with either .370" or .355" but more importantly they will work with the .580" or .600" butt diameter shafts. On steel shaft the butt diameter is the measurement that you need to know.
