Universal Golf Shaft Extensions

The Universal Shaft extensions will work with almost any steel or graphite shaft. After applying a little epoxy, insert the extension into a shaft, force the provided tapered plug into the extension until the extension expands to fit the ID of the golf shaft. Its that simple. 3 per pack.
Universal Golf Shaft Extensions is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Universal Shaft extension These were easy to install. I added epoxy to the mix so they are not going anywhere. I did mess one up but a heat gun can melt the epoxy and it was easy to remove. You can also drill through the plug with a long bit. I have been playing the set I extended for about 4 rounds now. None of the extensions have come loose or gotten squirrely. These are light so they don't add much weight to the club. I now have a set of forged bladed irons long enough for me to play and I really enjoy the old school Ben Hogan feel of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great I used these extensions on a set of graphite shafted irons to extend them all 1/2 inch. The openings were .490. To make these extensions work I used a hacksaw on the end along the two slot openings. I also used a razor to take additional material off the slot until the extension compressed into the shaft without too much force. Once I was comfortable with the fit, I inserted them with epoxy. I also dipped the pin tips in epoxy before driving them into the extension. These extensions are there to stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Universal shaft extensions Installed these on steel shafts to gain .5 inch increase under new multicompound grip replacement. Have played several rounds with them and have had no problems. The extensions are very solid, secure and lightweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Extensions Bought these to extend a couple of Ping putters I picked up on Ebay. They did exactly what they said they would. Easy to install and gave me the extra length I needed for my height. Also extended the shafts of my 3-metal and 3-hybrid and both feel perfectly solid even with my swing speed. I've got a second set of clubs I plan to use as I get older but they are standard shafts and I need a little more length to be comfortable. I'll be ordering more of these now that I know they work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install This was the first time I'd ever regripped a set of clubs or used extensions, these made it all too easy! Very happy with them!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't fit The universal extension that was shipped to me did not fit my set of Cleveland Hybrids with a shaft opening of .490.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shaft Extensions. NOT Universal though! I bought this to extend a set of Taylormade PSI's with Kuro Kage 90i stiff flex graphite iron shafts. These shafts had an inside diameter of .490 and these extensions were far too big to be inserted into these shafts. However, I've used them on other irons and they work exceptionally well. Ended up getting the .485 extensions and they worked like a charm.

Can this be used to lengthen a putter?

Asked by: Charles
If the putter shaft is a .580" butt diameter, which a lot of them are, this will fit tight but it will work well with a .600" butt diameter shaft.

What type grips will i need to fit over these extensions?

Asked by: Jerry
Any .580" or .600" core size grip will fit over these extension. Depending on which grips you currently have if they are still available you could get the same grips again and you will be fine.

I wanted to extend my driver. Bought these extensions to make the driver 48". Second day at the range, hitting the ball great, the extension snaps in half. Is this a common thing? Is there another extension I should use in my graphite shaft to add 3"?

Asked by: MCB123
Extending a club 3" can always be a little questionable especially for a player with a faster swingspeed and how puts more load on the shaft with the start of their downswing. You may not find an extension to hold up if this is the case. With any extension they need to be abraded but only enough for it to bond properly. You do not want to do a lot of sanding to make the extension fit. Which graphite shaft do you have? The butt diameter and shaft weight effect the extension size needed for proper installation. If you measure the inside diameter at the butt end of the shaft you can match that measurement to the correct size GW4000 extension. https://www.golfworks.com/premium-graphite-shaft-extensions/p/GW4000/

How do you remove these if you decide to not have them later?

Asked by: Twoehy
If the Universal Extensions have been installed in a steel shaft you can heat the steel shaft where the extension is installed and remove the extension. If they have been installed in a graphite shaft it is much more difficult to remove the extension. I like to use a heating rod and heat it and insert it down inside the inside of the extension and very carefully remove the extension. With graphite shaft you have to be very careful not to heat to much or you will damage the graphite shaft.

Willi a .600 graphite shaft extension fit into 600 butt diameter or do you need a .580 shaft extension to fit?

Asked by: Wayne
The Universal Extension will work with either a .580" or .600" butt diameter steel shaft. If you are extending steel shafts you could also use the S58 extension for a .580" butt diameter and the S60 extension for a .600" butt diameter shaft.

I have kuro kage shafts low balance constant mass in 7 titleist ap1 irons I need to extend them by 3/4 inch not sure what extensions I need

Asked by: george
To know the correct graphite shaft extension size you need to measure the inside diameter of the shaft at the grip end of the club. You then match that measurement to the GW4000 extension and that is the extension you need. We do not have access to this shaft to be able to get that measurement. If this is the 65 gram shaft and if this shaft has a .600" butt diameter it will likely use the GW4000 Red (.530") graphite extension.

I cut off a shaft by 6 inches so it would fit a jr. golfer and now I would like to extend it back 4 to 6 inches. Inside dia. measurment is .5625 in and the outside is .625 in. Can this be done ?

Asked by: kcace
These graphite extensions are only 3" long and we would never recommend extending a club in the 4" to 6" range. This creates a leverage point under the hands and could break and cause an injury. We would not want that liability.
