Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value! A good A flex shaft at a very reasonable price. I installed one in my own 16 degree fairway wood and in 2 of my friends' fairway woods. All of us have had excellent results.

Yes the Competition Series 65 Senior Flex shaft can be assembled to 45.5" for the 2016 GBB. You will also need the CA0020 LH Callaway shaft adaptor.

what does the product name letters and numbers stand for.

Asked by: BID
The product name Competition Series is just the name given to the shaft. The 65 stands for the weight range of the shaft. The L/A or R/S stands for the shaft flexes that can be achieved by following the trimming instructions for these shafts. These are what we call combination flex shafts meaning the L/A can be made into either a Ladies flex (L) or Senior flex (A). The R/S can be made into either a men's Regular flex (R) or men's Stiff flex (S).

Does this shaft have a low kick point? I want to use this with a Ping K15 SF Tec head. What exactly do I need to order? Also require a ferrule. Thanks

Asked by: Jim0623
This in the R/S flex is a mid bend point shaft. It can be used in the Ping K15 SF Tec clubhead using the BB9048 (.335") Ping Adaptor to size the .335" tip diameter shaft into the .350" hosel bore. How do I trim a competition 65 series ust shaft for s flex ?

Asked by: Jjs1922
For the R/S combination flex Competition Series wood shaft, you would trim 1" from the tip for a Driver.

Asked by: ABCDEFG
A key element in determining shaft flex is clubhead speed. Assuming a "male" will have a faster clubhead speed, the in this shaft the R/S combination flex would be the choice. It is a combination flex (that's what R/S means), so you would need to dietermine if you needed it trimmed for a Men's Regular flex or a Men's Stiff flex.

What is the correct MPF on this shaft? What's listed in your catalog and the bottom of the page in the description? Or at the top?

Asked by: mikewohlwend
On the woods, the MPF is 1D2S for the L, 2D2S for the A, 3B2S for the R and 4B2S for the S. On the irons, US0045, the L is 1D3S, the A is 2D3S, the R is 3B2M and the S is 4B2M.
