UST MP5 Shaft Specifications

UST Mamiya MP5/MP6/MP7 Graphite Wood Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent addition to my fairway woods! I purchased the MP5 shaft and had them installed in my X-hot 3&5 woods, one of the best decisions that I have ever made. My swing speed is 85-95 MPH and this shaft gives me the needed release at the head to but my ball flight long and straight. Great feel and a reasonable priced improvement to stock shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MP5, Excellent UST Shaft Purchased the MP5 R-Flex for its lighter weight and lower torque as an alternative to the Mitsubishi Zibuki ZT 60 S-Flex shaft for a Callaway Big Bertha Alpha driver. Tipped the MP5 a half inch to play a tad stiffer. The MP5 is more stable and smoother through the hitting zone than the Zibuki. More club head speed/distance is still to be evaluated pending spring weather in Wisconsin, but anticipate good results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very stable shaft I installed this shaft on a 2016 GBB driver. I ordered the club with a Kuro Kage tini black shaft which was very difficult to control (hook). The MP5 gives me the light weight and distance I was seeking along with excellent control and trajectory.

I replaced my X2 Hot 4 wood (R) with the XR16 4 wood (A). Stock shafts. I hit a high draw with my X2 Hot and now hit it low and left with the XR16. I love the Recoil shafts in my Apex irons. Please recommend a UST shaft that I can hit a high draw again.

Asked by: Keeg2
We will have a UST Recoil (US0102) wood shaft this year. We are showing they are due in by the end of March. At this link if you scroll down the page you will see the specification box for this shaft. https://www.golfworks.com/ust-mamiya-recoil-es-wood-shafts/p/US0102/ Another UST shaft you might look at would be the ProForce Axivcore Blue 59 (US0037). Callaway listed the stock shaft in the X2 Hot fairway woods as an Aldila Tour Blue 55 gram weight shaft. We do not have that shaft but the Aldila NVS 55 (AL202202) would match up fairly well. It could be another option.

I am hitting a Taylormade M1 Driver. Was thinking about changing to the MP5 and getting the PUREing service. Also, if I get the Tip and Butt trimming and Tip Prepping service would you guys install the tip adaptor?

Asked by: Jeff
You have to order the shaft tip adaptor (TM0023) and request to have us install it. If you want the shaft so that all you have to do is stick it in the M1 driver and tighten the screw then you want to check the tip and butt trimming. We would also need to know which setting in the shaft adaptor you would like the shaft aligned too. It can be best to call this type of order in to Customer Service at 1-800-848-8358 and they can help you and make sure they get all the correct information.

I have a TM Superfast 2.0,9.5deg. ( Matrix Ozik 4.8 stiff @46"). need a new shaft. I'm 69, swing speed 85-90. Any replacement suggestions? I also have been given a TM R11 with a 60g stiff shaft. Would like to replace the shaft that would be close to the 2

Asked by: JoeB
Both of these drivers used .350" tip diameter shafts so with the Superfast 2.0 the BB9008 ferrule will have to be used to install a .335" tip diameter shaft. With the R11 you will need to use a new shaft adaptor (TM0016) to be able to install a .335" tip shaft to be used with this driver. You might look at shafts like the Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue 65 (TT0107) in an R flex. It is designed for a high trajectory. A shaft that I recommend a lot is the Graphite Design YS6+ (YS633WPL) in an R flex. It is designed for a mid/high trajectory. Also the Aldila NVS (AL202202) 55 or 65 R flex which is designed for a mid trajectory.

I use a 44.5'' Cobra Fly-Z+ driver with a Matrix VLCT St 65 stiff shaft (feels a little boardy). Avg SS is 100 mph. My code is 4B2M. I'm undecided about this shaft UST MP5 and 2 others: Mamiya AXIVCore Tour Green and GD YS 6+. What would you recommend?

Asked by: Bobamgolf
The UST MP5 is the lightest weight of the shafts you have listed. It also is the most flexible of the shafts you have listed. It does test and play more flexible then normal. By almost a full flex. The Axivcore Tour Green and YS6+ are a little more similar with the Tour Green testing a little stiffer through the middle and lower part of the shaft then the YS6+. Both shafts test pretty close to the average stiffness of an S flex. I personally play the YS6+ in my driver and have for a few years now. I think it is a great feeling shaft and I recommend it often.

I want to move from reg flex shafts to senior shafts in my 915F Titleist 3, 5, and 7 fairway woods.  Please recommend which of the UST Mamiya shafts you would suggest.  Will tip trimming be involved? Thanks. Great store.

Asked by: adaranger
UST shafts like the MP5 (US0061) and UST Gold 55 (US0081) in the A flex could both work well. They both follow trim code W6 and yes there would be tip trimming for both of these shafts into the 3,5 and 7 woods. 1" tip trimming for the 3 wood and 2" each for the 5 and 7 woods. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf

Do you stock UST MP6 A flex shaft for drivers? Looking for a mid kick point shaft in A flex.

Asked by: George
We do not stock the MP6 wood shafts. We could special order this shaft for you from UST. You would need to contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-848-8358 or by email at golfworks@golfworks.com and they can help you with this special order.

I hit the ball high with driver and I want a lower trajectory ball flight. Which UST Mamiya driver would you recommend?

Asked by: Edd
The UST MP5 wood shaft is designed to produce a high ball flight. I would suggest looking at shafts like the ProForce V2 55 or 65 (US001W) or the Axivcore Green (US0058). Both of these shafts are designed to produce a mid ball flight.

Is the "A" flex for seniors with a slow swing speed.  Assuming low flex point and torque 4.5+...

Asked by: sparkplug58
An "A" flex would be considered for slower swing speeds and is considered a "Senior" flex.
