UST Mamiya Recoil 660/670/680 Irons

Finally, a revolutionary technology that will change how you think about iron shafts. UST Mamiya’s new recoil iron shafts are a game changer. In the past, heavy weight graphite iron shafts felt dead and stiff. With UST Mamiya’s exclusive recoil™ technology, we have brought feel back into the shaft, while allowing players to hit a wide range of shots that result in better distance control and pin seeking accuracy.

By positioning over 19 different layers within the shaft, we were able to create a design that outperforms the best steel shafts in the market.

  • Great feel and lightweight options to increase club head speed for greater distance
  • Lighter weights for faster club speed
  • Medium to medium high ball flight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recoil iron shafts I have been building clubs for 20 years, just assembled a set of irons with 660 shafts, have to say some of the best feeling shafts I have ever assembled. Shaft loads and performs won't be disappointed, plays true to flex...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lateral control perfect ball flight. I now have two sets of irons with the shafts. I am 64 and a 3 handicap. Hit my 7 iron about 155 with light weight steel stiff shafts about 163 to 165 with UST shafts. Can shape my shots. Hit it high or low. The best shafys I have found for me yet. Very consistent daft to shaft. Picked up 9 to 10 yards carry with my 4 iron. 195 to 205. Big difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mamiya 670 F3 Recoil graphite shafts!!! Fantastic graphite shafts that give you the feel of steel along with the lightweight performance of graphite. I'm a 56 yr old male that used to have tired/sore shoulders and forearms after every round of golf or visit to the range. Not with my new Regular flex Recoil 670s. AWESOME!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great shaft I use these shafts the (recoil 660and 670) for re-shafting my hybrids. The weight increase, though minor) is perfect for me. My only complaint is that the 680 does not come in regular stiffness. A real good stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Golf shaft Didn't get to buy it they discontinued the shaft. The shaft is great in my pitching wedge. Wish I could buy the rest of my set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Alternative to light weight steel I made a set of equal length irons with these shafts and I am very satisfied with the irons which I made. They are slightly stiffer than the rating, but are very consistent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST IRON SHAFT EVER! Put these in my Taylormade RSi1's...amazing! Just don't put them in your wedges, they will reduce your spin in those.

I have these shafts in my XR irons 660 regular shafts one inch over.  Can I put these into my hybrids and make them one inch over as well?  Would these shafts work in a hybrid or should I use different shafts.  Ball flight in irons high and long.

    Asked by: Ted
Yes the Recoil iron shafts can be used in hybrids and can work well. You should have no problem making them 1" longer.

Hi Folks,   I just ordered four US00072 UST Recoil shafts for my 6, 8, 9, PW KE4S irons.   I purchased the same shaft for a 7 iron head.  Upon examination, the shafts that came are F3 vs. F4 (7 iron) and quite a bit longer.  same order #  What gives?

Considering Recoil 660 F3 for 5 thru PW. I to take shafts to a qualified club fitter to install them. Confirm I only need order the 6 shafts and fitter will cut them to length of existing shafts. Puring for 6 = $17.50 total ?

    Asked by: willyturn
Assuming the irons you have use a .370" tip size shaft you will need 6 shafts in the 660 F3 flex (US0072). The clubmaker will need to both tip and butt cut these shafts. Yes SST Puring would be $17.50 per shaft.

Can the Recoil shafts be butt trimmed to length and be used in hybrids ?

    Asked by: JVL
Yes you could use the Recoil iron shafts in hybrids. I would still recommend some tip trimming if possible to help maintain the shaft flex. If you have a 3 hybrid you could follow the tip trimming recommendation for a 3 iron etc.

    I want to purchase Recoil f3 660 A flex for ping G 25 for my 6, 7, 8, 9, wedge. What all do I need to purchase.

    Asked by: Ron
The Recoil 660 shafts will not fit the Ping G25 irons. The G25 irons use a .355" taper tip shaft and the Recoils are only available in a .370" tip size which is to large to fit. We can special order the Recoil 660 shafts from UST with a .355" taper tip to fit the Ping G25 irons. You will need to call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-848-8358 and they can help you with the special order.

explain diff between 660, 670, and 680  and F4 F5 as it relates to regular shaft.  I plan to use ithem on Adams Mini Pro 16 and 18.  Plus 1"

    Asked by: keith
The 660 is the lightest (71 grams) and the 680 is the heaviest (82 grams) and the 670 is 76 grams. Even in the same flex the 660 will play a little more flexible then the 670 and the 670 will play a little more flexible then the 680. F4 stands for Stiff flex, F5 for Extra Stiff flex, F3 for Regular flex, F2 Senior Flex and F1 Ladies flex.

I have K15 irons from PIng with AWT Shafts and I would like to replace the steel shafts with recoil graphit shaft, would this be possible ???

    Asked by: boyz
Yes, you can install any of the .355 tip Recoil shafts in the K15 irons. The K15 irons take a .355 taper tip shaft, so you would have to choose a .355 tip Recoil option.
