Water Activated Grip Tape

The best water-activated tape available. Tape is slippery when wet and extremely tacky when it dries. Best of all, it holds the grip firmly in place under temperature extremes, resisting twisting and slipping.

Also available in 2"x10" strips (WST10)

Water Activated Grip Tape is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! I have now used this tape on 5 clubs and it works as advertised. The key is to use "soapy" water. I took a squirt bottle filled with warm water and a few dozen drops of dish washing detergent, gently shake the bottle before filling the grip. (Holding the finger over the hole in the bottom) Release the finger to soak the tape, making sure to coat the entire grip area of the club. Slide the grip over the end using a screw driver to get it started, and the grip slides right on with minimal force. Make sure the grip marks are aligned before sliding it on, and do minimal adjustments. The tape sets up very well, and works for me. Its way better that the solvent activated tape, imo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Painless Using this product is painless. I was forced to have to use solvent activated tape for my most recent grip job due to running out of this product mid job, and what a difference. This product is so easy to use, it allows you to preform your re-gripping anywhere without dealing with the odor, the toxins, or hassles of having to deal with dangerous chemicals. Moving forward I will overstock this product to ensure that I never have to work with a solvent again, and just continue enjoying the ease of using this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Water activated tape The Golfworks does not emphasize enough the importance of using soapy water instead of plain water. It is essential. Would have saved me a lot of aggravation had I known this prior to installing 15 very difficult grips. They need to include these instructions with each purchase. The tape sticks to bare shafts OK but not very well to masking (build up) tape. Doesn't work as well as Golfworks previous water activated tape from 3M.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water Activated Tape This is a great product. I got a water sprayer bottle from the dollar store and the rest was history. Put the tape on the club, wet it down with the water mist and slide the grip on. No fumes no mess other than some water and the grips are ready to go in about 30 minutes although I usually leave them over night. Just extremely easy to work with!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a disaster! Even with soapy water I could only get one grip on. I ruined one grip and followed the instructions to a T. I gave up and ordered regular tape and solvent and another grip to replace the one I screwed up. I have been regripping clubs for years and thought the water tape would be the way to go -- maybe it's just me getting old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tape This is it! After messing around for a couple years with solvent and latex gloves to keep the smell off my hands, I tried this. What a find. Dries in less than an hour, no slips, no slides. Hint: use windex or other cheap window cleaner to activate the tape. Much better than water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of use I have used nothing but water activated tape for close to 20 years. It is non toxic, water is free. I have removed and saved grips by wetting and pulling them off. Its ease of use is what I like best. Never a problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best This is so easy to work with. My first thought was that this was going to take some extra effort with just water but to my surprise grips just slide right on. I will never use anything other tape again!

I used solvent by mistake on water activated tape,

Asked by: Spokey
It should not create a problem. The solvent will evaporate as it normally does and the grips will be fine.

what is the best way to remove a grip that uses this tape? I do not want to damage the grip. thanks.

Asked by: catxnc
You could use the V-Groove Grip Remover and actually you should be able to use water as a solvent for removing these. http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-v-groove-grip-remover/p/VGGR/

What is the best solution of soap/water for your water activated grip tape?

Asked by: Cragar53
There is no exact formula, but a couple of drops of dish soap in a solution of warm water will get the job done. If your using a quart bottle, approximately 3-4 drops should work. For an 8 oz bottle, no more than 2 drops should work.
