UST DHI Series Graphite Iron Shaft Specifications

UST Mamiya DHI Series Graphite Iron Shaft is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Surprise! I purchased these to reshaft steel uniflex Callaway Razr X irons. I was very impressed with the quality and appearance. There was minimal variance when splining them, likewise when performing FLO measurements. Swing balanced them and took them to the range. Very pleased. They performed as advertised. THX

What is 3d2m on the a flex shaft?

Asked by: Dennis
3 stands for the flex, which is an R flex. D stands for distance which means this is a light weight graphite shaft and can create more distance. 2 stands for a mid ball flight meaning this shaft is designed to produce a mid ball flight. M stands for a mid range torque graphite shafts. An S for the last code would be a higher torque shaft which could help correct a slice and an H for the last code would be a lower torque shaft to help correct a hook.

would this shaft work (R flex) work for Titliest AP1 714 iron. I want to re-shaft it. It's for my 14 yr old daughter her swing speed with the driver is at 90 mph. Please advice, I want to get it prep and trim by you guys . Also with the hosel on it

Asked by: PinoyG
The DHI Series iron shafts have a .370" tip diameter. The hosel diameter of the AP1 714 irons is .355" (tapered). I would suggest the XCaliber tapered irons shafts in an R flex. They are similar in price but are a tapered .355". http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_AS0028S An inexpensive steel shaft option would be the True Temper TT Lite iron shafts. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_2XLI The other option you have would be to have hosel bores on the irons reamed open to .370".

is the shaft tapered the entire length. if not, how far from the tip does it become straight?

Asked by: kugs
The dhi iron shafts have a 5.5" parallel tip length. The shaft tip section stays .370" for 5.5".

What will the effect be of trimming the UST Mamiya DHI iron A flex to the L flex?

Asked by: Palladin
The DHI is a discrete flex, so the trimming instructions are the same for the A or the L flex. If you have the A flex, you could trim less than the trimming instructions call for, making it play slightly more flexible than the A designation, but it will probably not be as flexible as the stock L flex in the DHI line.
