Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to use. Nice handy golf shaft cutter. Small enough. Be sure to change the blade for graphite. Blades are for different type of shafts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not cut straight I purchased this after seeing all the good reviews and thought I would save a trip to home depot. I feel like maybe the one I received is faulty but this thing will not cut straight. Waste of 10 bucks.

Would this work on the butt end of a Project X shaft? My concern is that these shafts are stepless thus making the anchor point not a perfect cylinder.

Asked by: Rich
Yes the STC will work fine for cutting the Project X steel shafts.

Is this coming with the graphite cutting wheel?

Asked by: Mike
No the STC does not come with the graphite cutting wheel. It would need to be ordered separately.

In receiving the graphite cutter wheel (did not order the cutter tool), graphite tubing is not listed on the 'for cutting list'. Can you verify that the cutter wheel received is the correct cutter wheel for graphite shafts?

Asked by: zed
The way I always tell the graphite cutting wheel compared to the steel cutting wheel is the graphite wheel is larger in diameter.

Just installed your new replacement cutting wheel ( for steel ). Must have turned 100 revolutions without achieving a cut. Cutter makes a perfect groove, but the cut does not occur. have cut the true temper shafts previously without incident.

I would suggest contacting our Customer Service Department at 1-800-848-8358 and they can help you with a replacement blade for this cutter. I have not heard of any problems with these cutting wheels but it can always happen.

When using the graphite cutting wheel on graphite shafts, it is necessary/advisable to wrap the shaft with some masking tape for the cut as you would with a saw?

Asked by: Lee
This would be a good idea. You really only need one piece for one layer to help prevent any fraying while making your cut.

After the shaft is cut, what is your recommendation for abrading the steel tip?

Asked by: mikeberlin
If you are abrading by hand you can use a strip of sandpaper, about 100 grit, or a strip of emory cloth. You need to remove the shine from the chrome shaft. Personally I like to clamp the shaft in a vise with the tip end sticking out and with the strip of sandpaper use a shoe shine method to abrade the shaft tip. Be sure not to sand up higher then the top edge of the hosel. If you have a belt sander you can abrade it that way as well.
