Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Delivery Time on Replacement Cutter Blades I ordered Monday afternoon and received my replacement cutter blades Wed at 1:30 PM. Great service! I was only half way through my set of irons when the old blade gave out so the quick turnaround is greatly appreciated. Perfect fit for the General 120 cutter I bought here years ago. First shaft already cut clean as a whistle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not cut straight I purchased this after seeing all the good reviews and thought I would save a trip to home depot. I feel like maybe the one I received is faulty but this thing will not cut straight. Waste of 10 bucks.

Can you cut very small amounts off the butt of a steel shaft with this? For example if I only needed to trim off 1/8" or 1/4"? Thanks

Asked by: Kenny
I have cut 1/4" before using the tubing cutter but not 1/8". When I cut these small amounts I always put a shaft extension or butt section from an old shaft inside the butt end of the shaft I am cutting to give it some structure. It makes it easier to cut these smaller amounts.

Does this honestly work well for steel & graphite? Not jagged or diagonal or anything? My local golf shop lets me cut shafts for free with a machine, but I'm always working on several clubs and if I can save the 20 min drive with equal quality I'd like to

Over the years I have cut many steel shafts with the STC and it can work well. Just do not force it. I personally do not like the blade for cutting graphite shafts. It does not work as well because graphite dulls cutting equipment in a hurry and the wheel cuts a few shafts ok and then not very well. For cutting graphite shafts by hand I prefer a Grit Edge Blade (GREB) in a hacksaw frame. With graphite shafts it is best to always cut through a piece of masking tape to help keep the fibers from fraying. You can see some tips for using these methods at this link on our web site. https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/2008HowToBuildClubs.pdf

Would this work on the butt end of a Project X shaft? My concern is that these shafts are stepless thus making the anchor point not a perfect cylinder.

Asked by: Rich
Yes the STC will work fine for cutting the Project X steel shafts.

Is this coming with the graphite cutting wheel?

Asked by: Mike
No the STC does not come with the graphite cutting wheel. It would need to be ordered separately.

In receiving the graphite cutter wheel (did not order the cutter tool), graphite tubing is not listed on the 'for cutting list'. Can you verify that the cutter wheel received is the correct cutter wheel for graphite shafts?

Asked by: zed
The way I always tell the graphite cutting wheel compared to the steel cutting wheel is the graphite wheel is larger in diameter.

Just installed your new replacement cutting wheel ( for steel ). Must have turned 100 revolutions without achieving a cut. Cutter makes a perfect groove, but the cut does not occur. have cut the true temper shafts previously without incident.

I would suggest contacting our Customer Service Department at 1-800-848-8358 and they can help you with a replacement blade for this cutter. I have not heard of any problems with these cutting wheels but it can always happen.
