UST Gold 55 & 65 Graphite Wood Shaft Specifications

UST Mamiya Gold 55 Graphite Wood Shaft is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Control off the tee I bought this to replace the worthless rubber-band-for-a-tip shaft in my 10.5 Wilson Smooth Driver that I would spray in every direction. The slightly stiffer tip straightened everything out. My home course has narrow fairways, many fairway bunkers and penal rough, so a high ball flight without too much runout to hit the landing zones is preferable. This shaft with the Smooth rear-weighted head delivers in spades. I now hit more fairways per round than I ever have with any other head/shaft combo in the 40 years I've played, and even though my swing speed has slowed down with age, I don't automatically go to gold tees; I stay on the white tees with the rest of the guys (At 53, I quit the blue tees years ago). If I wasn't already hitting my Wilson HS 3W, Fy & 4H with their factory stock UST shafts so well, I'd get matching gold shafts for them also. You can't beat UST for performance at the price point. Rated 4 out of 5 by from New driver shaft. I am 65 and thought a shaft that is more tailored to swing speed would help my distance. So far I can't tell much different but our season is just starting. It is still cool here and I think I can more accurately evaluate it when it warms up. Overall purchase experience was great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft! I have played this type shaft from ust for a long time. They are consistent from shaft to shaft. Excellent dispersion pattern and great distance.

Can I replaced the existing graphite shaft for my Taylormade RBZ Tour Stage 2 10.5 RH driver. My preferred selection is a stiff flex shaft with a 47" length. Do you also sell the shaft tip adapter and please specify which brand will the correct fit.

Asked by: Sonny
The TM0020 is the shaft tip adaptor you need for the RBZ Stage 2 driver. A 46" raw length shaft installed into this driver will provide enough length to create a finished length of 47" for this driver. The club head will add approximately 1.25" to the finished club length.

Do you have the tip connector for the Taylormade R-11 Driver. Is that purchased separately? If not where can I get one? Thanks, Neil Winikoff

Asked by: neil
The TM0016 is the Taylor Made R11 adaptor.

I purchased a calloway x series n415 driver A flex. To high a ball flight. Club Head marked 10.5 deg, but I measure 12-13 deg. My swing speed is 85. Would golf 55 A flex bring the ball flight down.

Asked by: John65
You might actually hit a little higher with the Gold 55 A flex. Most of these 55 gram weight shafts play a little more flexible then normal and a more flexible shaft will hit the ball higher. In an A flex light weight shaft that tends to keep the ball flight a little lower I would recommend the Xcaliber Tour SL (AS0026). It is 46 grams but does not tend to produce the much higher ball flight that most 50 gram weight shafts do.

will the UST Mamiya Gold 55 (335 tip) coupled with the BB9019 adaptor work on the Nike SQ Dymo 2 driver dead?

Asked by: PopPop
Yes this should work just fine. The SQ Dymo 2 driver used a .335" tip diameter shaft.

What other shafts would be good for the TM Superfast? I need to replace a Stiff, made speed dropped to 85 - 90. I tend to hit it high and get no roll, I would like it a little lower and get some roll.

Asked by: RV306552
In the UST shafts the ProForce V2 (US0001W) could be a good choice to bring the ball flight down some. It is designed as a mid trajectory. Another good shaft would be the Kuro Kage Black HBP 2nd Gen (MR0044). It is also designed as a mid trajectory shaft. The Superfast does use a .350" tip diameter shaft so you will need to shim these .335" shafts to properly fit. The BB9008 adapter will work to do this.

I tend to hit my driver too high and loose distance & roll, I would like something that I would get a more penetration ball flight and more roll. swing speed is 88 to 90.

Asked by: Dom
I would suggest a shaft like the UST ProForce V2 55 (US0001W) which is designed for a mid ball flight. The Aldila NV 55 could be another good choice (AL202201) being designed for a low/mid ball flight.

A .600" core size grip will fit a .610" butt diameter shaft. The grip will be approximately .010" larger then standard.
