UST Mamiya Recoil 110 Taper Iron Shafts

Finally, a revolutionary technology that will change how you think about iron shafts. UST Mamiya’s new recoil iron shafts are a game changer. In the past, heavy weight graphite iron shafts felt dead and stiff. With UST Mamiya’s exclusive recoil™ technology, we have brought feel back into the shaft, while allowing players to hit a wide range of shots that result in better distance control and pin seeking accuracy.

By positioning over 19 different layers within the shaft, we were able to create a design that outperforms the best steel shafts in the market.

  • Mid-weight option in a .355 taper tip design.
  • Designed for more efficient loading and unloading on partial and full shots, providing better distance and trajectory control.
  • Recoil™ 110 produces a medium to lower shot trajectory.

UST Recoil Graphite Iron Shaft Specifications

UST Mamiya Recoil Taper Iron Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good. I only purchased the shaft for my three iron to test out. My iron set is Mizuno MP4's with KBS C-Taper 120 shafts. Excellent shafts but if I played in a three day tournament they would wear me out. I was skeptical about graphite shafts for my irons but decided to give it a try after researching and reading about the Recoil 110 Stiff shafts. The test so far has been outstanding and if it continues I will replace all my iron shafts with the Recoil. It is true, I cannot tell it is a graphite shaft and the ball explodes off the club face. But as everyone knows the true test is on the golf course. Stay tuned.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent graphiteshaft ... I have tested many GRAPHITE shafts for IRONS and this is the best one so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Building a driving iron I purchased a Callaway steelhead XR 3i and placed the recoil 110 x flex to test out its driving iron abilities. Club is taking forever to arrive. I hit the 4i steelhead with a regular shaft at dicks on monitor and its long..258 yards long. Hoping for some serious gains with 3i. I have played the recoil F4 from a friend and loved the feel. Will let everyone know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from powerful - great feel I put a 110 x stiff Recoil in my 18degree Callaway UT and it has transformed the club - easier to handle, much more speed and great feel. (previously the club had a dynamic gold steel shaft). Easy to launch high and drive in low, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel I put these shafts in all of my irons about six months ago and finally converted my wedges a few weeks ago. Great decision. Great feel with just enough feedback.

Hoping you can help with a length question. The X-flex shaft for a 2 iron says it's 41 inches. Yet this other page from your set (https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/StdLengths.pdf) says standard length is 39.75 inches. Also, the 712U 2 iron is std 39.50

    Asked by: Eric
Shaft maufactures make the raw shaft lengths longer to accommodate players who use clubs that are longer then standard and also to accommodate different iron designs. If you installed say the 39.5" raw length 5 iron shaft your UDI 2 iron it would still measure approximately 40.75" when the shaft was installed into the clubhead because of the length the clubhead adds to the clubs finished length. If you installed the 5 iron shaft into this 2 iron the shaft would play much stiffer because the 5 iron shaft flex was designed to work with the clubhead weight of a 5 iron installed and the lighter weight of a 2 iron will make the shaft play stiffer. You will install the 41" shaft into this clubhead and cut from the butt end for your 39.5" finished length.

I took your fitting guide test and it said I need a 110 prototype shaft, I can't seem to find it here, is that the X shaft?

    Asked by: John
The Recoil 110 Prototype shaft is only available through he UST TSPX Fitters. The GolfWorks is a UST TSPX Fitter but we do not stock the 110 Prototype because we have gotten very little demand for this shaft. We can special order the shafts for you. You would need to contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-848-8358 or by email at golfworks@golfworks.com and they can help you with your order.

I am looking to reshaft my Corbra King F6 irons with the UST recoil proto 110 however my irons are .370 (parallel tip) - Does the 110 come in parallel tip ? can I use a shim or what is a suggested graphite replacement ?

    Asked by: MB1432
The Recoil 110 does not come in .370" parallel. You could still use the Recoil 110 if you were to also use shims. below is the link for the brass shims: (.355 to .370) http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-brass-adaptor-shims/p/SHIM/

2013 X forged with KBS tour not on the list from JimY. Suspect a 370 tip so how what would I need to shim it properly?

    Asked by: Jimmy
The 2013 X Forged irons are listed on the spreadsheet right before the 2013 X Utility Prototype irons. The X Forged irons are listed as a .355" taper tip. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/Callaway.pdf

I want to try these in my callaways. I have lbs tour now can I switch my four iron to try?

    Asked by: Jimmy
It depends on which Callaway irons you have. If your Callaway irons use a .355" taper tip then the US0087 Recoil 110 shafts will fit well. If your Callaway irons use a.370" parallel tip shaft then you would have to shim the .355" taper tip shaft to fit the .370" hosel bore. At this link you can check an see what tip size shafts your Callaway irons use. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/Callaway.pdf

need a shaft for my Apex UT 21* Utility. playing KBS C-Taper Lite stiff's io other irons and love them, want something a little lighter to help launch the UT. You think Recoil 95 F4 proto or Recoil F4 110?

    Asked by: Wes121
The Recoil 95 and 110 shafts are designed for a mid ball flight and even though they are lighter then your C-taper lite shaft may not give you the higher ball flight. In the 95 gram weight range a steel shaft like the Nippon N.S. Pro 950GH (NP0012) or True Temper XP95 (TT0101) might give you a higher ball flight then the Recoil 95 or 110 shafts.
