Maltby TE Forged Irons

Maltby TE Forged Iron Views New for 2010, the Maltby M-Series Tour Edition Forged Irons replace the popular MTF Forged Irons. The Tour Edition Forged Iron club head has been developed based on customer request for a traditional cavity back design with less graphics. The exceptionally clean look of the M-Series TE irons along with a traditional blade profile appeals to the better players and traditionalist looking for more forgiveness. The TE Forged irons are the result of a tireless five step forging process that starts with a raw billet of 1035 carbon steel and through a series of 5 different forging dies and multiple heat treating process’ creates an incredibly precise finished head requiring very little surface grinding. Typical forged cavity backs only utilize one forging die and have to be hand ground into the final shape and head weight, causing inconsistencies in every clubs specifications from one club to the next. By optimizing the center of gravity position, the Maltby TE Forged irons offer Super Game Improvement playability, combined with the exceptional feel and look of a true forged, players cavity iron.

  • Five-step true forging process provides unparalleled quality and playability.
  • 1035 Carbon Steel provides a soft, solid feel and allows for easy adjustability.
  • Traditional blade profile appeals to better players and traditionalist while maintaining a high playability.
  • Cavity back design concentrates weight around the perimeter and low, yielding a very forgiving “players” club.
  • Mirror, nickel chrome finish enhances feel and enhances the clean, traditional appearance.
  • Blended leading and trailing edges of the sole will not snag.
  • Universal hosel bore diameter allows for .355" and .370" tip shafts
  • Available #3 - PW, GW
  • Conforms to the rules of golf
  • RH only
  • Recommended golf ferrule – 74PI
  • Product Code = MA0099

In the near future, will you carry the head for a sand wedge in this model, TE Forged? I bought all of the heads you currently sell in this model and would like to complete the set with a sand wedge. Thanks!

Asked by: Bob
We do not plan to produce a matching Sand Wedge for the TE set. Most sets today, especially in a players type design like the TE Forged, will only be made through the PW or GW. Most players like the variety of wedge lofts, bounces, grinds, etc. offered in "stand alone" wedge designs like our MSeries +, Maltby Design, or MG Tour Wedge models.

What is the tip size for the heads - 0.355" or 0.370"?

Asked by: JoeKBS
The TE Forged irons have a universal hosel bore that will accept either a .355" taper tip or the .370" parallel tip.

Is it possible to specify a 3 iron with 21 degrees of loft so it could be bent to 19 degrees?

Asked by: Itch
The TE #3 iron stock loft specification is 22 degrees. Even at 22 degrees, it could be bent to 19 degrees. It is important to note that bending the 22 degree loft to 19 will also change the bounce from 3 degrees to 0 degrees of bounce.

Could a clubpack with the Score LT shaft be set to a swingweight of between D0-D1 for the TE Forged set 4-Gw? Assuming the set is built to a 37.75 inch five iron. Thanks

Asked by: Jim G
Yes. If you specify in the comments on the order (if you order online) or tell our representative if you order by phone, we can swingweight the set to as close as the desired swingweight as possible. Generally there will be a range of 2 swingweight points, so D0-D2 for example would be the targeted range. At that length, to get in that range will require some tip weights to be used. Without tip weights, the swingweight will be approximately C9-D0, so a few grams will probably need to be added.

Do these forged irons come in a a or regular shaft?

Asked by: golfer123
MA0099 is the code for just the iron heads and you could have any Regular flex shaft that we stock installed into these clubheads. We do offer the Club Paks for this club that you can see at this link. Club Paks include the head, shafts and grips and we offer Free Assembly.

Hi, Is there any upcharge to have the lies and lofts checked before shipment. Yes I know the specs are +/-1 for each but can I get them checked and adjusted to be exact.

Asked by: wts
Yes you can have them checked and adjusted. There is an upcharge but I am not quite sure what that charge is with GolfWorks Canada. You would need to contact them to find out for sure.
