The UDGI is a .370 parallel tip shaft with a trim code of IR2, which does call for tip trimming. For a wedge, you would trim 4.5" from the tip, then butt cut to final playing length after assembly. The DGI is a taper tip .355 and has a trim code of IR1, which indicates no tip trim. If you are sure you have the UDGI, then you do tip trim as mentioned above.
